Conflict Isn’t New, But How We Work With It Needs to Be

1st May 2026 /Posted byLouise Blackman

A couple of years ago, we created our Team Conflict Management Hub.

It brought together a collection of tools, insights, and practical resources to support people working with one of the most consistent challenges in teams and organisations: conflict.

At the time, it felt really important.

Today, it feels essential.

Why This Still Matters (Perhaps More Than Ever)

Recently, conversations around conflict have become louder.

From leadership teams navigating tension, to organisations investing in mediation and facilitation, there’s a growing recognition that conflict is not something we can ignore.

But here’s the thing:

Conflict itself hasn’t changed.

What’s changing is our awareness of it — and our willingness (or sometimes reluctance) to engage with it.

The same patterns still show up:

  • Conversations that don’t quite happen
  • Tensions that sit beneath the surface
  • Misalignment that grows over time

And the same question remains:

Do we have the skills and capacity to work with what’s really going on?

Revisiting the Conflict Management Hub

When we created our Conflict Management Hub, the intention was simple:

To offer practical, accessible ways to help people navigate conflict more effectively — whether you’re leading a team, coaching others, or working within complex relationships.

That intention hasn’t changed.

And as we revisit the content now, what stands out is how relevant it still is.

Because while the context around us evolves, the fundamentals of working with conflict remain the same.

What You’ll Find Inside

The hub brings together a range of resources designed to support you at different stages of working with conflict:

  • Practical guides to help you approach difficult conversations
  • Frameworks and tools to understand what’s happening beneath the surface
  • Insights and perspectives on the relational dynamics of conflict
  • Ways to build confidence in navigating tension, rather than avoiding it

Whether you’re currently in the middle of a challenging situation, or simply want to build your capability for the future, there’s something here for you.

A Timely Reminder

It’s easy to look for new solutions when challenges persist.

But often, the most valuable resources are the ones we already have — waiting to be revisited with fresh eyes and new context.

The Conflict Management Hub is one of those resources.

Created at a time when these conversations were emerging…
Still deeply relevant in a time when they’re impossible to ignore.

From Awareness to Practice

Of course, reading about conflict is one thing.

Working with it — in real time, in relationships, in teams — is something else entirely.

That’s why, alongside these resources, we continue to create spaces for people to practise, experiment, and build confidence in working with conflict.

Because ultimately, this is a skill.

And like any skill, it develops through:

  • Experience
  • Reflection
  • Learning in community

Explore the Hub

If you haven’t visited the Conflict Management Hub before — or if it’s been a while — now is a great time to (re)explore it.

→ Explore the Conflict Management Hub

Take what’s useful.
Revisit what resonates.
And notice what feels different when you come back to it now.

Final Thought

Conflict isn’t going away.

But our ability to work with it can grow.

And sometimes, the first step isn’t finding something new, it’s returning to something valuable, and seeing it again with a fresh perspective.

If you’re ready to move beyond insight and start applying ORSC in a way that creates real change, there are two upcoming opportunities to begin:

ORSC Fundamentals – May
A practical introduction to ORSC tools and systems thinking, designed to help you confidently apply what you’re learning to real-world relationships and teams.

Summer In-Person Fast Track
An immersive cohort experience where you’ll practise, refine, and embed your ORSC skills — accelerating your ability to create impact in the systems you’re part of.

Both are designed to support you in turning awareness into action — and action into lasting change.
